Summary

Caring Lotus is a registered NDIS provider based in Werribee. It supports people with disability across Melbourne and Geelong and also provides in-home aged care. Since June 2025, Westend Digital has managed Caring Lotus's social media and created its content for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Over 16 months we published 1,358 pieces of content. They generated more than 259,000 organic impressions, more than 10,000 recorded engagements and 447 new followers, all without paid advertising. One principle guided the work throughout: show the real people behind the service wherever appropriate, rather than relying on stock photography or AI-generated people.

The challenge

Caring Lotus is a registered NDIS provider based in Werribee, with Stevie Awards and Wyndham Business Awards recognition. When Westend Digital began managing its social media in June 2025, the opportunity was to build a more consistent organic presence around the organisation's own people, activities and community.

That kind of visibility can matter particularly in disability support, where choosing a provider often involves a high degree of personal trust. Caring Lotus speaks to several audiences at once: NDIS participants managing their own plans, families and carers, plan managers and support coordinators who refer clients, and people thinking about becoming support workers. Any of them may look at a provider's social channels while deciding whether to learn more or make contact.

For a participant, choosing a provider can mean choosing who will come into their home and daily life. Social content built around real staff, activities and community moments can give people more context about the organisation behind the service.

Real people instead of stock or AI imagery

Stock photos of smiling carers look much the same from one NDIS provider to the next. They tell a participant nothing about the people they would actually meet. For this project, our view was that showing actual staff, activities and community moments would give the audience a more useful and credible picture of the organisation than synthetic imagery could.

From the start, we chose to photograph and film Caring Lotus's own team, activities and community wherever we could. Our reasoning was simple. People relate to faces they might one day meet.

Consistency over campaigns

Facebook and Instagram carried most of the activity, because that is where participants, families and the local community engage. LinkedIn received a lighter, more focused schedule for the professional audience: support coordinators, partners and the wider disability sector.

Content Gallery

The gallery below should show real examples from the project: photos, short videos and designed posts created for Caring Lotus across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Use real project assets only. Participant imagery is optional and should only be used where reuse permission is clear; otherwise use staff, design, feed or other project visuals.

Results: June 2025 to 30 September 2026

Across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, the accounts recorded 8,884 likes and 1,075 comments. GoHighLevel also recorded 79 Facebook shares and 90 Instagram shares. That gives 10,128 recorded engagements and an engagement rate by impressions of 3.9% across the three platforms. LinkedIn shares are excluded because the GoHighLevel report returned an anomalous value for that field. Using the available valid fields, Instagram reached 4.7%, Facebook 3.3% and LinkedIn 6.0%, though LinkedIn's audience was much smaller.

New followers arrived steadily rather than in one spike. Across the three platforms, Caring Lotus gained 447 new followers during the reporting period: 246 on Instagram, 178 on Facebook and 23 on LinkedIn. Some people may follow on more than one platform, so this counts follows rather than unique people. For a local provider, the important point is that these accounts chose to follow the organisation and remain connected to its social presence.

Every figure below is organic. Caring Lotus did not run paid advertising during this period.

The case study total of 259,120 impressions includes Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn only; GoHighLevel's 260.3K all-channel total also includes approximately 1.17K Google Business Profile impressions.

Testimony

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Imran and the team have been an absolute force. Consistently showing up to social events with clients, producing reels and posts on the same day they operate like an extension of our team, not an outside agency. The consistency, the responsiveness, the results. I couldn't ask for more.

What this project shows

Real-people content takes more work than stock imagery. It needs coordination, regular access to the team and their activities, and careful attention to consent and image use. In disability services especially, participant imagery should only be used where the appropriate permission is clear.

That extra effort is what makes the content believable. A support coordinator or family member scrolling through Caring Lotus's channels sees the actual organisation. For a provider whose service depends on trust, that is where the relationship starts
